Strengthening chaplaincy and spiritual care
Practical, considered advice for organisations developing, reviewing or modernising their approach to chaplaincy and spiritual care.

WHO I WORK WITH
Advice shaped by your context
Chaplaincy and spiritual care take different forms in different organisations. I work with leaders and teams to design approaches shaped by their people, operating environment, responsibilities and organisational context.

HOW I CAN HELP
From strategy to delivery
Whether you're building a chaplaincy service from the ground up, strengthening or scaling an existing program, or responding to a new contractual requirement, I can help you develop an approach that is practical, professional and suited to your organisation.
Establish
Build the right model from the beginning
Design a chaplaincy or spiritual care service that fits your workforce, operating environment and organisational context - including service model, practitioner roles, governance, referral pathways and integration with existing support.
Strengthen
Review what's already in place
Take an independent look at an existing chaplaincy service and identify opportunities to strengthen professional standards, governance, scope of practice, practitioner support, organisational integration and accountability.
Scale
Build a model that can grow with you
Develop or adapt chaplaincy for larger, geographically dispersed or changing workforces — with the structures, practitioner support and consistency needed to maintain quality as the service grows.
Respond
Turn a tender or contract requirement into a workable service
If a government tender or major contract requires chaplaincy, pastoral care or spiritual care, I can help you interpret what's required and design a credible model that can be clearly articulated in your response - and practically delivered if you're successful.
GOVERNMENT & CONTRACT ADVISORY
When the tender requires chaplaincy

A requirement for chaplaincy, pastoral care or spiritual care can appear in a government tender or major contract even when your organisation has never provided it before. The challenge is knowing what an appropriate service should look like, and demonstrating that you have a credible plan to deliver it.
I can work alongside your bid, leadership or people team to translate that requirement into a practical chaplaincy model suited to the contract, workforce and operating environment.
I can help you:
Interpret the requirement - understand what the tender is asking for and what a credible response requires
Design the model - define the service, scope, delivery approach and level of support required
Build the governance - establish professional standards, practitioner requirements, escalation and referral pathways, reporting and accountability
Plan the workforce - determine how suitable chaplains or spiritual care practitioners will be sourced, selected, credentialled and supported
Integrate the service - connect chaplaincy appropriately with HR, wellbeing, EAP, psychosocial safety and other organisational supports
Prepare for delivery - develop an implementation plan that can move from tender commitment to operational delivery if the contract is awarded
Chaplaincy requirement in an upcoming tender or contract?
The goal isn't simply to include chaplaincy in the tender. It's to design a service you can confidently stand behind and actually deliver.
For more than 20 years, I worked in chaplaincy and spiritual care within one of Australia's largest emergency service organisations, including a decade providing statewide leadership to the NSW Ambulance Chaplaincy Service.
That experience gave me a practical understanding of what it takes to build chaplaincy that works inside complex organisations - from practitioner selection, governance and professional standards through to operational integration, critical incident response and supporting the people who provide the care.
My experience has since extended into organisational wellbeing and workplace support, designing and leading services across national workforces and advising organisations seeking to establish or strengthen their own models of care.
Today, I bring those perspectives together to help organisations develop chaplaincy and spiritual care that is safe, professional, sustainable and workable in practice.
